A Festive Finale in Shelton: December 19–21
Shelton, Washington is wrapping up the holiday season in heartwarming style with the final weekend of its Christmas celebration at Camp Grisdale, December 19–21. What began in 2019 as a bold, joyful challenge to the Hallmark Channel—earning Shelton the title “Christmas Tree Capital of the World” with a Guinness World Record 797 lit trees—has grown into a cherished community tradition powered by volunteers, local businesses, and small-town pride.
While the weather forecast calls for plenty of rain this weekend, the good news is all events are still happening as planned. With covered areas, fire pits, cozy cabins, free cocoa and marshmallow roasting, and lots of holiday cheer, Camp Grisdale remains a warm and welcoming place to celebrate—rain or shine.
For 2025, the event returns to its timber roots. While the Guinness-sized maze takes a pause, visitors can wander a tribute maze of more than 300 glowing trees and enjoy Camp Grisdale’s transformation into a cozy holiday village. Expect live music, crafting stations, festive food, snow flurries (weather dependent), and photo opportunities with Santa, Paul Bunyan, and Babe the Blue Ox.
