Free Guided Community Hikes - Karen Hilburn Trail (Goldsborough Creek)

The Hiking Project, in partnership with Mason Transit Authority, hosts a year-long series of free, family-friendly hikes designed to help families unplug, reconnect with nature, and build confidence outdoors. Guided by the motto "Hike Your Own Hike," the program emphasizes going at your own pace and enjoying the journey.

Participants can pick up a punch card at the Shelton Family YMCA, collect stamps at each hike, and earn a backpack full of goodies. Mystery scavenger hunt stamps and surprise prizes run throughout the year. Volunteers are welcome.

  • June 27 — Theiler Wetlands Trail (Salmon Enhancement)

  • July 25 — Potlatch State Park (Beach Day)

  • August 29 — South Fork Skokomish River (River & Uplands)

  • September 26 — (location to be announced)

  • October 24 — Lake Isabella (Lakeside & Apples in Season)

  • November 14 — Bayshore Preserve, Capitol Land Trust (Salmon Run)

  • December 5 — Wilson-Hoss Conservation Forest (Christmas Trees)
