Each new moon, the serene waters of Hood Canal at Alderbrook Resort & Spa become the setting for one of the most unique wellness experiences on the Olympic Peninsula: the New Moon Floating Sound Bath. As the moon enters its dark phase — a time traditionally associated with new beginnings, intention-setting, and personal renewal — participants float on the tranquil surface of the Hood Canal while immersive sound frequencies wash over them from crystal singing bowls, gongs, and other resonant instruments. Sound bath sessions are designed to guide participants into a deeply meditative state, calming the nervous system and creating a sense of clarity and inner stillness. The addition of floating in the calm cove waters of Hood Canal makes this experience even more powerful, as the gentle motion of the water and the surrounding natural beauty amplify the restorative effects. This monthly gathering is complimentary for Alderbrook Resort guests and spa members, and open to outside visitors for just $25. Advance reservations are recommended as space is limited.
