Hood Canal Adventures offers a guided Kayaking & Oyster Shucking Tour launching from Yelvik’s Beach. This four-hour experience combines paddling, wildlife viewing, and hands-on oyster harvesting in one outing on Hood Canal.
Participants kayak around Pulali Point and into Dabob Bay, where seals, eagles, porpoises, and other marine life are commonly seen. The tour includes a stop at a secluded beach loaded with oysters, where guests enjoy lunch, learn proper oyster shucking techniques, and harvest fresh Hood Canal oysters right from the shoreline.
Guides share local knowledge about the Hood Canal ecosystem and the wildlife encountered along the way. Guests are encouraged to bring cameras, as sightings may include harbor seals, sea lions, porpoises, and occasionally humpback whales or orcas.
Lunch can be brought along or added at booking as a picnic option, which includes a wrap or sandwich, fresh fruit, trail mix, and a beverage with hydration packet. The tour is suitable for a wide range of ages, making it a great adventure for families, couples, and groups.
