Date: Saturday, October 3, 2026 | 8:00 AM
Location: Dosewallips River Trail | 6540 Dosewallips Rd, Brinnon, WA 98320
Admission: Free admission
The group meets at the road end on Dosewallips Road, where a washout has closed vehicle access for years and turned the former drive-in trailhead into a walk-in approach through old-growth forest. Hikers should plan for a long day with significant mileage, pack lunch and layers, and carry the ten essentials along with a Northwest Forest Pass or America the Beautiful pass for parking. The trail follows the river upstream past Dosewallips Falls and into Olympic National Park, with elk sightings common in the valley bottom. Eleven people have marked interested so far, and the group departs promptly at eight.
