Guide Jerry Novak walks small groups through mushroom identification, spore-print technique, and safe foraging practices on the Olympic Peninsula. Participants can bring their own harvesting basket or buy one at Hood Canal Adventures' shop before setting out, and the tour runs regularly from October through early December. Private tours can be arranged for groups of six or more, and those interested in spring and early fall foraging can look for the outfitter's separate Forest Edibles tour.
