Hama Hama Oyster Rama 2015

  • Hama Hama Oysters 35846 N. US Highway 101 Lilliwaup, WA 98555 United States (map)

Celebrate the tideflats! Every year we welcome the public to our beach to learn about oysters, oyster farming, and life in the Hood Canal, aquatic and other. We call this beach ho-down the Hama Hama Oyster Rama. It's not the biggest party in the world, but it might be the biggest subtidal one!

The Rama features tours with intertidal ecologists and oyster growers, u-pick oysters and clams, an oyster-sports competition we call the Shuckathalon, a beer and wine garden, kid's activities, live music, and various delicious food options. Every year, the Rama benefits local Hood Canal charities.

For 2015, we're adding a cooking competition that let's you and 2 of your friends compete iron-chef style for the best baked and raw oyster dishes.

We're also really excited to debut a concept we've been kicking around for a while: oyster school! The idea is that you get to follow oysters from seed to plate, purchasing them as seed, getting them started on the farm, keeping tabs on them as they grow, and then eating them the following year.
