NIGHT SKY EXPERIENCE

Blue Horizon Paddlesports | Hood Canal & Lake Cushman

Have you experienced the magic of being on the water at night? Join us for this special nighttime program on the Hood Canal. Enjoy generally calm seas, no boat traffic and spectacular views of the night sky.

Each tour will be different depending on conditions; we'll learn about astronomy, bioluminescence, lunar folklore, and night-time marine life behavior. The kayaks will be outfitted with colored lights, and everyone will have a light attached to their PFD.

Caroline, Blue Horizon's resident interpreter, will lead the group through an exploration of topics including lunar legends, biouminescence, astronomy, nighttime marine life adaptations, and more. Caroline is a passionate historian and a natural storyteller, we are lucky to have her on our team!

Sarah (owner of Blue Horizons) will be there to cover safety and kayak technique. She has a decade of guiding experience with a spotless safety record, and will be happy to answer any kayaking-related questions that pop up.
