Festival of the Firs | December 2023

For generations families in Mason County and Shelton have enjoyed holiday traditions centered around their evergreen roots. Since the 1920s the area has been know as the Christmas Tree Capital of the Nation  and in 2019 they celebrated their forestry ties with a successful Guinness World Record attempt for the most lit Christmas trees in on location, 797 trees in a maze. Annually volunteers celebrates this win with a commemorate lit maze for families to enjoy free. This year the local communities are extending the Christmastown welcome to include not only the maze but a treasure hunt of decorated trees throughout the County, parades, Santa Claus visits, wagon rides, cookie and wreath workshops, live music, and so much more in the 1st Annual Festival of the Firs.
