Head to Shelton for an invigorating three day music festival featuring national Bluegrass artists and bands, jam sessions and workshops for kids and adults. Organized by the Kristmas Town Kiwanis, this event raises money for local youth programs, supports tourism and brings talented artists from all over the country to perform in Shelton.

The Bluegrass From the Forest Festival offers many activities in addition to the four main multiple -band shows including Master Workshops, Band Scramble Showcase (anyone can participate!) Banjo Contest, Chick Rose’s Youth School of Bluegrass, Mandolin Tasting, Marv’s Slow Jam, vendors and much more! There will be contests, all night jamming in the campground (midnight hot dogs included), and don’t forget the Showcase Stage where there’ll be the Chicks Kids show, open mic as well as other  performances! One thing’s for sure – there is something to keep you occupied at any time throughout the weekend!

The expanded camping with its forest backdrop hosts over 20 acres for families to find their own areas to enjoy the music and activities. With two stage areas, a beer and wine garden, workshops and family activities including Chick’s Kids Music Workshop, Midnight Hot Dogs and an all ages Country Dance, there is plenty for everyone to do. This year the event will also have on site dining from local food trucks as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner menu served from the on site kitchen.

This is a fantastic event for a local camp destination with the family. Stay for one, two or all three nights of live performances and workshops and enjoy the surrounding areas like Hood Canal or Olympic National Park during the day. Camping ($15/night) is available Thursday through Monday so pack up your RV and camp chairs, you can’t get a better family weekend deal!
