Site of Potlatch State Park, one of the busiest boat launching ramps on Hood Canal, the tiny hamlet of Potlatch is situated on the western shore of the Great Bend a few miles south of Hoodsport, where the Skokomish River empties into Hood Canal.

Potlatch borders the Skokomish Indian Tribal lands to the south, home of the newly expanded Lucky Dog Casino and Restaurant. During shrimp and salmon harvesting seasons, tribal fishing operations sell their fresh catch for famously bargain prices.

Cabins, motel, camping, fuel and dining facilities are all located in or near Potlatch.
