You'll find the Rest-awhile RV Park, Marina & Dive Center at Mile Post 329 on scenic North Highway 101. Located on the west shore of Hood Canal north of Hoodsport, Rest-Awhile was homesteaded in 1889 by Colbein John Sund and later established as a resort in the 1900s. It now offers waterfront and wooded RV sites, a marina, grocery store, group facilities, a fresh seafood market, dive shop, a private oyster and clam beach and much more. Late October through November, the Chum salmon begin to run. Hood Canal literally boils with salmon. You can watch them spawn in our creek or cast a hook and line at the Hoodsport hatchery just a few miles away. All through the fall and winter months, the crabbing is excellent. You can crab from your boat or rent ours. If you're a land lubber, the public dock in Hoodsport is a great spot to drop your pot! Shrimp season begins the third Saturday in May. Make your reservations early! Here at the park, you can do some eagle watching, rent a kayak, take a scuba lesson, watch the salmon spawn, treat yourself to the unique seafood delights in the seafood market, walk our nature trail or just kick back and Rest-a-While! |
