Family Fun in the South End

The whole family will enjoy the Squaxin Island Museum, located just south of Shelton (open Wednesday - Sunday). Striking architecture and a rich presentation of the Squaxin cultural heritage make this well worth a visit.

From there, grab lunch at one the many local restaurants or stop in at the Shelton Farmers Market (open Saturdays, May through September). Fresh berries and produce, homemade goodies, music, arts, crafts and more make for an excellent way to meet local folks and sample some of the area’s finest products.

When the youngsters are ready for a little more action, head to Kneeland Park, near historic downtown Shelton, where a massive wooden play structure teases the imagination of kids young and old. Or, test your skills in the batting cages at Mason County Recreation Area, or on the ramps and other features at Walker Skate Park (both in Shelton).
