Description
The South Sound Chapter of the Puget Sound Anglers is proud to present the annual Hood Canal Salmon Derby on the weekend of August 20-21. Salmon must be caught between dawn Saturday and the end of the derby, noon Sunday - see full details of contest on-line.
Cash Prizes for the 3 Largest Fish ! 1st - $1000 2nd - $750 3rd - $500 The weigh-in station will be located at the port dock in Hoodsport on State Highway 101.
Derby tickets are $25 each
(cash or check only) and include a chance to win a boat, motor & trailer package from Northwest Marine Trade Association's 2011 Salmon Derby Series boat raffle. Tickets will be available at advertised locations & at the Tacoma Power powerhouse boat launch at Potlatch at about daylight (5AM) on Saturday to 8 AM & again on Sunday until 8 AM. Ticket sales close after 8 AM on Sunday.
A “FREE” KIDS DERBY will award the winner a top prize of $100. (free ticket required) Merchandise awards go to the 4th through 10th place winners, plus a big raffle will be held for non-winning entries.
There's also a "Mystery Fish Prize" -- Any size fish could win and the angler must be present to win!
SATURDAY NIGHT BARBEQUE - Your derby ticket also includes a chance to relax, eat, socialize and exchange fishing info at the BBQ starting at 6pm at the
HOOD CANAL GROCERY in Hoodsport.
A special awards ceremony will be held Sunday, August 21 at 2:00 pm behind the Hood Canal Grocery in Hoodsport. Hotdogs & soft drinks provided!
