Calling all foodies and fun-havers! The 14th annual Taste of Hood Canal—sponsored by the North Mason Rotary Club—is going down mid-August. This event is sure to delight oyster lovers, classic car enthusiasts, kids, and anyone wishing to enjoy a summer afternoon in the park.

WHEN: August 13th, 10am–6pm
WHERE: Downtown Belfair
Meander through the park and among over 90 booths featuring arts, crafts, travel information, and of course tasty bites from Hood Canal and beyond. And do it all with live, local music wafting through the air.
Seattle’s Soulfunktion will take the main stage as headliners this year. As their name suggests, their funk-forward dance vibe is a surefire party starter.
One of the most anticipated events of the day is the classic car show. Registration opens at 7am and will feature motorcycles for the first time. Many of these old vehicles have been restored by the people showing them. Wander the show and ask plenty of questions, there’s always a good story behind every car.
Not a motorhead? No worries—there are a host of other activities to experience, namely: food!
Seafood in all forms steals the show each year with North Mason Chamber of Commerce’s grilled oysters, locally-prepared seafood salads, and fresh-caught Hood Canal shrimp. The beer garden will also feature local favorites from the Seattle area, as well as craft spirits and expert mixologists.
This year, Heritage Distillery from Gig Harbor will pour some of their famed spirits. Think Brown Sugar Bourbon, blood orange-flavored vodka, and a host of other tasty libations.
15% of the net proceeds from the festival benefit the Food for Kids Program which provides backpacks, weekend meals, and breakfast and lunch meals during summer break for underprivileged local kids.
Have fun, do good, enjoy Hood Canal: sounds like a win-win to us!
