Second Annual CiderHood at Alderbrook Resort

If there’s one major iconic crop that defines Washington State, it’s the apple. In fact, it’s our state’s official fruit! And as the October sun slips behind The Brothers earlier and earlier, it leaves just enough room for fall to wiggle its way into our corner of the Olympic Peninsula.

Harvest is always a crunchy, musky, delicious time of year in our prolific woods and on our farms. If there’s anyone who knows how to celebrate it, it’s Alderbrook Resort. Their chef’s perpetually changing menu features local, and sometimes foraged fare. This year, they’re celebrating in style with the 2nd Annual CiderHood. This is not something you’ll want to miss.

To make this event happen, Alderbrook teamed up with CIDERCRAFT Magazine and over 15 different cideries from all over the Pacific Northwest. All fare is either locally foraged, farmed, or harvested. It truly doesn’t get fresher than this.

The Chef’s Dinner | October 28

On Friday evening, Executive Chef, Josh Delgado will present a five-course meal showcasing local ingredients. Each course is paired with a different cider. Expect goodies like backyard-foraged wild mushrooms, honey from local bees, and duck and pork raised just down the road.

Tickets are expected to sell out quickly, so be sure to reserve yourself a seat at the table. The dinner will take place in the restaurant at Alderbrook Resort & Spa.

Cider Tasting & Hood Canal Harvest | October 29

The next afternoon on the waterfront lawn at Alderbrook, over 15 PNW cideries come together with a wide sampling of artisan-made brews. Don’t miss the raw bar presented by Hama Hama Oyster Co., harvest-flavored ice cream by Olympic Mountain Ice Cream, and paella by the Paella House. Enjoy all this and more, inspired by the prolific natural wonders of the Olympic Peninsula.

The cherry atop the cake: last year, Finnriver Cidery and Alderbrook Resort & Spa came together to craft a cider just for the occasion. Selkie Cider will catch a new energy at the event and will continue to be available for purchase at Alderbrook while it lasts.
