Nothing says Northwest summer like a waterfront salmon bake – but if you haven't tried it before, now's the time to add a favorite – "Geoduck" – perhaps not the most attractive of bivalves, this much-prized giant clam is the star of a whole day at this weekend event!
Salmon Days in the town of Allyn is celebrating its 36th year. From 11 AM to 6 PM, just $15 serves up a delicious meal of alder-smoked salmon, beans, corn on-the-cob, fry-bread and all the fixings! It’s grilled over Allyn's giant pit barbecue by volunteers who have perfected their technique over three and a half decades! Not into salmon? (gasp) There's lots of other great food choices including hot dogs, bratwurst, hamburgers, fried chicken, kettle corn, soft drinks, lemonade, slushies, cotton candy, and even chocolate dipped fruit and strawberry shortcake! Oh yes, let's not forget Taylor Shellfish will offer steamed oysters and while Leonard K's Boat House Restaurant serves up geoduck delicacies that will delight your palate!
Stop by the beer garden. Enjoy a glass of wine, or grab a locally crafted beer by Belfair’s Bent Bine Brewery including domestic favorites with a great view of the stage. Relax and enjoy the wonderful music! Open all three days.
All this great food and drink served on the waterfront to the backdrop of some fantastic live bands, vendors and events. Here's an overview of what to expect at the 2018 Allyn Community Association's annual event. Admission to the event is free, the weather will be great – and it's all for a great cause! Win, win, win!
