Sea kayaker destination
What a great little park — not yet over-run with tourists, and just big enough to offer places to explore on foot and on water. Great for a weekend getaway. You can paddle up the cove or out and around the corner to the broader water and beaches down the Sound. What’s your favorite?

we spent a weekend last fall at Staircase…the camping was great. we got a site right on the river. we are planning a trip back this summer and i would LOVE to do some kayaking on Lake Cushman. Any ideas where we can rent some in the area?

Hi, We rent kayaks for off site use but we are in Allyn which is a long way from staircase (but it is on the way) Hanna & Mark at Kayak Hood Canal in Union also rent kayaks but I’m not sure if they do off site. Check out our website if you are interested.

Does anyone go to Squaxin Island Park by kayak? There is a boat launch at the end of Arcadia Point and the Island is right there at the juncture of the Totten and Hammersly Inlets. I have a small resort on the inland side of Arcadia Road and I thought it would be an excellent place to encourage my guests to go for a morning or afternoon’s kayak enjoyment and then head back to my place for campfire and hot tubbing. Are the waters tame there for the amateur kayaker? What would I write about that to encourage the expert kayaker to enjoin them to travel there?

We received two new Kayaks this weekend and will be renting them by the hour and by the day throughout the year. We also have a great paddle boat for rent. Come and visit, paddle around and enjoy fresh oysters with us on the grill. We have (8) cottages for rent, 22 RV spots, and morrage available. We are on the NorthShore of Hood Canal, 16 miles past Belfair. Summertide Resort and Marina 15781 Northshore Road, Tahuya our phone is 360-275-9313. Hope to see you soon! -kim
