Hi I am the Park Ranger at Schafer State Park. The Park is open to river access only until further notice due to the storm damage. Buildings hit by trees during the storm were the following: Dayuse Restroom, Campground Restroom, Pump House, Resivor, Restroom in small group camp. Right now there is still alot of downed trees through out the park and most trails are blocked by debris. At this time anybody who wants to volunteer to help clean up the Park give me a call and lets set up a time I would appreciate the help to clean up the dayuse, campground and trails.

The Park has a lot to offer including the following:

    6 utiility sites
    30 standard sites
1 large group camp that is reservable starting Jan 1 each year
1 small group camp that is reservable starting Jan 1 each year
1 Large Picnic shelter reservable starting Jan 1 each year
1 Small Picnic shelter reservable starting Jan 1 each year

A medium sized days use area.

The above mentioned reservable areas can be reserved by call the Park at 360-482-3852

The Park is a first come first serve on the campsites. The Park is located in Mason county and sits right along the East fork of the Satsop River.

Fishing for trout, Salmon and Steelhead are a big time event each year.
