You can eventually connect to any trail in the park through this entrance. A great 3-day hike is to follow the North Skokomish, ross the First divide, and come out at the Collins Campground on the Duckabush River. Some ascent, but not too difficult.

The Elinor and Mt Rose trails into the Olympics start from here. Steep, but definitely day-hikable. Watch the weather tho — we went up into a storm & got rained out, only to come down and find out that all the REST of the county was enjoying a gorgeous sunny day. We woulda been better off staying low & swimming in the lake!
