Take Old Olympic Highway — just off Hwy 101 — to the Squaxin Island Museum. The tree lined country 2-land road shades you as the sun shines through those trees. In Mason County, there are a lot of nice “off the beaten track” roads. You can spy wildlife, hear different birds.
From many of these roads, you are driving alongside of Hood Canal, the Skokomish River or South Puget Sound. Sometimes all three within a very short span of time.
